The Bloom of Boundaries I, 40.6cm*50.8cm, 2025
This work, inspired by speculative biology, imagines a fictional organism as a metaphor for psychological states. Its fluid, membrane-like form suggests circulation, growth, and transformation, where unstable yet luminous colors reflect overlapping emotions and identities. Fragile inner structures embody a tension between vulnerability and resilience, revealing a struggle between self-protection and openness.
Drawing from observations of plants, such as aquatic softness and the persistence of wild growth, the imagery is translated into abstract biological forms. Rather than literal anatomy, the work proposes a symbolic “tissue” that represents an ongoing exploration of identity, emotion, and self-recognition.

This work continues my exploration of organic forms as metaphors for inner psychological states, shifting from boundaries toward a quieter space of nurturing and becoming. It emerges from extended periods of working indoors, where repeated, close encounters with plant life: unfolding leaves, submerged roots, gradually informed my perception of form. I construct a fictional organism in a state of continuous formation, suspended within a fluid, membrane-like field. It appears both contained and open, its surface marked by branching structures, clustered nodes, and softly circulating color, suggesting processes of connection and latent life.
Rather than depicting a literal body, the work proposes an abstract internal structure shaped by vulnerability, care, and the tension between protection and openness. Boundaries dissolve, allowing interior and exterior to merge, holding the potential for growth and renewal.
